Year 10 Fundraising
Year 10 have challenged themselves to walk, run or cycle 1000 miles during 12th Feb - 12th March. We want to encourage ourselves to get away from our screens, outside and exercising, which is good for our mental and physical health. We are also taking the opportunity to raise money for our two charities for this year: World Wildlife Fund and Brain Tumour Support, a local charity.
Please support us by encouraging them to get out and exercise, and by sponsoring them using this fundraising link:
If every student in Year 10 goes for one 30 min walk, run or cycle a week, we will easily reach 1000 miles and if every student raises £2, we will have nearly £500 to send to charity!
UPDATE 5TH MARCH
Year 10 have done brilliantly!
WE HAVE BEATEN OUR TARGET AND WALKED, RUN AND CYCLED 1551 MILES!!!!!!
We have also raised £160.50, which is £199.38 including gift aid!
An absolutely brilliant effort.... and we still have one week to go!!
After the challenge finishes next Friday, we will award prizes to the top 3 tutor groups. At the moment the leader board is:
First place... 10F 341 miles (it looked like 10B had pulled ahead for a while this week, but 10F have had a late surge!
Second place... 10E 280 miles
Third place... 10G 248 miles
It could all change though, 10A and 10B are not far behind at all!
Special mention for 10H, although they don't have the highest miles, they have raised the most money so far, so well done!
We are also going to award achievement points to everyone who has taken part. So, get out there clocking up the miles and raising some money!
Well done, Year 10!
Mrs Colwill (I've done 9 miles this week, by the way)
