The Castle has been designated an International School since 2006. This is in response to the broad range of work with an international dimension that the school has undertaken in most curriculum areas and at a whole-school level over many years. This includes raising awareness of other cultures and of minority cultures within the United Kingdom. Currently the school has links with schools and educational organisations in a range of countries including Russia, Indonesia, France, Germany, Malysia, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, China, India, Kenya and Uganda.
Teachers and students regularly make educational visits overseas and the school often plays host to visitors from abroad. We encourage regular exchange of student ideas allowing the comparison of students' ideas and opinions about their schooling between cultures and countries.
